CHAPTER ONE: a spring day

It was a bright sunny day in Seoul, Lilly was taking a walk.  Unlike other days today was a perfect time to get outside. The wind slowly blew the trees sending pink cherry blossoms flying into the wind. Many people were walking around at this time, staring at the bright colors of spring and talking to friends. Lilly was supposed to meet her friend Lara here at the park. But as she walked she couldn’t see her anywhere. She found a perfect place on the grass and set down her flowery picnic blanket. Seeing all the other couples sitting and chatting made her feel sad, Lilly was still as single as could be, but she liked to imagine one day she would meet the one for her.

As half an hour passed, she wondered if Lara had forgotten her, she picked up her cell phone and checked her texts. Sure enough, there was a text from Lara: “ Sorry I can’t make it today, boss is making me work overtime. Sorry!” 

Lilly slammed her phone down. “Uggg she never has time anymore!.” This was true. Ever since Lara’s new job she never could hang out with Lilly and it seemed they were getting farther apart from each other. Now she got up stuffing the blanket under her arm and huffing, “I have no one to hang out with anymore I bet no one even likes me!” She left the grass and started walking off. Lilly was so focused on being mad she didn’t notice a man coming straight for her. She collided into his chest, her blanket and food spilling all over the dirt road. “Hey, are you alright?” A deep and worried voice came from above. Lilly rubbed her head and mumbled something. “Ouch…” she looked up to see a very tall man. She was taken back for he was very handsome. His hair was black and he had beautiful hazel brown eyes. She took his outstretched hand and got up.

 “Yes I’m okay, I wasn’t looking where I was going, it’s my fault,” Lilly said

“No, it’s my fault I should have watched where I was going.” The stranger said. 

“Sorry,” they said in unison. They both turned away hiding their blushing faces. 

“I’m Taehyung.” He said

“Lilly.” Lilly said. 

She couldn’t take her eyes off of him. He was perfect; he really looked like something out of a fairy tale. 

They locked eyes for a second then turned away smiling and blushing again. 

“Well stay safe!” Taehyung bowed and started walking off.

Lilly stood there paralyzed, she shook it off and ran after him. This was love at first sight, she couldn’t just let him walk off. “Hey!” She frantically waved and chased him, Taehyung looked back confused. Lilly stood hands on her knees panting, “Hey, I was wondering if I-well, I-could maybe- umm get your, your number.” She stood there, there was silence. 

Taehyung smiled and took out a paper and pen from his pocket writing down his number.

“Here you go.” He giggled and gave the piece of paper to her. 

“Thanks,” Lilly said shyly.

Then she ran leaving the beautiful man in the background of a spring day. 

CHAPTER 2: date talk

One day after the first encounter with Taehyung, Lilly had finally built up the courage to text him. She took out her phone and the crumpled scrap of paper with his number. Then she typed,

 “Hey it’s Lilly, you know the girl who bonked into you the other day.😋” 

Typing.....

“She was biting her nails, she did this when she was nervous. 

“Haha, yeah I remember you! What’s up?” 

Omg Lilly was so happy he remembered her!

“I was wondering if you wanted to go get coffee with me this Wednesday.” She typed.

Oh god, why did you say that? Lilly thought.

“Sounds fun! Where do I pick you up?”

Lilly squealed with excitement. “Yes! Yes I’m going on a date with him yahooooooooo!!!”

The next morning she woke up excited, she tried to hold in her scream and jumped up and down. Then she realized. “Wait what am I going to wear.” She frantically rummaged through her closet.“I have nothing to wear!” She panicked, then remembered, “ahh I should call Holly!” 

Holly was one of Lilly’s friends, she was a musician but had great fashion sense and always lent Lilly her clothes if she needed them.

As Lilly arrived at Holly's house she saw another one of her friends' cars there, it was Ruban, Ruban was usually at Holly’s house. Lilly rang the doorbell about three times until someone came. Then she saw Holly coming to the door, “What?” She said in her slight British accent, realizing it was Lilly she smiling. 

 “Ohhh look who came! Ruban get your butt over here look who’s at the door!” 

“Oh my well look who joined the party!” Ruban exclaimed. 

“Hey guys, I need a favor,” Lilly said.

Holly and Ruban looked at each other then back at Lily, and swept her into the house and into Holly’s huge bedroom. 

“Is it a boy?” Ruban said

“I bet it’s a boy,” Holly said

“Yeah it’s a boy,” Lilly said.

“Knew it!” Holly and Ruban said together. 

“Let me guess, clothing?” Holly said. Lilly nodded but was interrupted by Ruban. Holly got to looking through her closet full of clothes.

“I am an expert at love,” Ruban said. Getting very close to Lilly’s face.

“No you're not,” Holly said, Ruban ignored Holly’s comment and continued talking. 

“So is he cute?” Ruban said 

“YESSSS, like really cute.”

Ruban nodded approvingly “I know just what to say”

“Oh god” Holly said

“Okay so when he meets you at his car say, ‘nice but my ex’s was better'." 

“Oh my god Ruban stop, don't say that.” Lara said.

“Excuse me I wasn’t done.” Ruban said

“Ahem, then when he asks to buy you dinner say, 'no you fat rat!'” Holly said.

Lara looked so done she just shook her head. “Literally how does that connect to anything?” Lilly though was laughing hysterically. 

“Thank you thank you!” Ruban took a bow and finished. 

“Here I got the perfect outfit!” Holly exclaimed.

She held up a very expensive-looking trench coat with a nice turtleneck, jeans, and a Gucci belt. 

“Wow, that’s so fancy!” Lilly looked surprised 

“Fancy is better than nothing.” Holly said. 

“take it turd,” Ruban said 

Even though they were older, the group still talked the same to each other, which made Lilly happy.

As Holly and Ruban waved goodbye, Lilly grateful that her friends would always be there for her.

CHAPTER 3: first date

Later that day Lilly waited outside for Taehyung, and just on time, he pulled up. Her jaw dropped as he pulled up in a black Lamborghini, now she was glad she wore fancy clothing. She smiled as he got out and opened the door for her. 

“Thank you” Lilly said 

“Mhmm” he replied like he knew exactly what she was thinking 

The ride to the coffee shop was fun. They talked about work and surprisingly Taahyung said he was a retired musician and now a poet, Lilly had never heard of him but didn’t say that. She told him that her friend was a musician. 

And he said that he had heard of her before. He asked about Lilly and Seoul and she told him it was nice living in Korea. 

When they arrived at the coffee shop people stared and pointed at Taehyung, Lilly smiled and assumed it was because of his expensive car. 

In the coffee shop, the smell of cakes and warm espresso floated through the air. They sat at a window seat looking out to the beautiful trees in the area. As she looked into Taehyung's eyes Lilly thought to herself that this was the perfect date. They laughed and chatted while sipping their drinks, it didn’t take long for them to break the ice. 

“You know you remind me a lot of my friends, I think they would really like you!” Taehyung said

“hah, I was thinking the same thing about my friends.” Lilly laughed

“Hey you should come over to my house sometime and we can hang out with my other friends. There are a handful sometimes but I think you would like them!” 

“Sounds like a deal!” Lilly said. 

They talked for a little while longer and then, Taehyung drove Lilly home. 

When they arrived at her house Lilly was sad that the date was over.

“Well that was very fun Lilly !”

“Yes yes it was” Lilly said. 

“ see you soon I hope let’s stay in touch so you can meet my friends!” 

“Of course!” She said.

She stood there waving until Taehyung's car was far around the block. 

She ran inside, jumped on her bed and sighed a huge smile on her face. 

She was definitely in love.
